To maximize the absorbency of your Mutandine Mestruali, you should wash it twice before use. To ensure it lasts as long as possible – because the Mutandine Mestruali from Sisters Republic is washable and reusable for several years – we also recommend:
1/ Rinse the underwear immediately after taking it off with cold water, until the water runs clear.
2/ Wash with the program "Synthetics" at 30°C with the rest of the laundry (don't worry, everything will be fine).
"We recommend that you place your period panties in a washing net or in the 3-in-1 bag from Sisters Republic when washing in the machine. Do not use fabric softeners or bleach."
3/ Let it air dry and do not use a clothes dryer.

Tips for composing your pack
Depending on the length of your cycle, whether short or long, you will need 4 to 10 pairs of underwear. If you want to wear your menstrual underwear day and night and wash them all at the end of your cycle, you should count on having between 8 and 10 pairs. If you want to wash them to reuse several times during your cycle, 4 to 5 pairs will be sufficient. You should count on at least one pair for the day and one for the night, all multiplied by the number of days your period lasts.

How long can I wear my period underwear?
The Sisters Republic period underwear offers up to 12 hours of absorbency ✅. However, if you have very heavy bleeding, you should change the underwear during the day or use an additional hygiene protection measure.

I have very heavy bleeding. How can I be sure that nothing leaks out?
Our period underwear can absorb for up to 12 hours, but with heavy or very heavy bleeding, the time may be reduced 🩸. In this case, you can use an additional protective measure or simply carry a spare pair of underwear in your small bag.
You can also test at home how well the absorbency matches your flow.
How does the technology of period underwear work?
Our period panties look like regular panties but contain an integrated absorbent layer in the crotch. This consists of 2 to 3 thin layers of highly absorbent cotton (depending on the strength), which absorb moisture, dry quickly, and remain odor-free. A waterproof layer protects against leaks. With only 1.5 to 3 mm thickness, you stay dry for up to 12 hours.
